Laos is an enchanting country. We spent three weeks in north of the country in October 2016, visiting Vientiane, Vang Vieng, and Luang Prabang. It is by far the most beautiful place we have been to, and has some truly magnificent landscape. There are two incredible waterfalls in Luang Prabang, and tubing down the river in Vang Vieng through a valley of ancient karsts and peaks, is awe-inspiring.
Okay so Laos certainly has its drawbacks; its no longer such a hedonist’s Paradise – not really such a bad thing – everything runs slowly, and the wifi is some of the worst you’ll experience anywhere in the world. But when a country’s name is suffixed by ‘PDR’ – Please Don’t Rush – you can hardly expect anything more. We promise to write more about our time here in the future, but in the meantime, here are some of our highlights.
